The Difference Between The Pre Filter And Post Filter Of An Air Compressor

The development of industrial industry has greatly improved many products in daily life. The post-processing equipment of the screw air compressor mainly consists of an air storage tank, a dryer, and a filter. In the filtration section, it is divided into pre filter and post filter, usually separated by a dryer. Compressed air is discharged from the unit to the air storage tank, pre filter, dryer, and post filter to complete purification processes such as filtration and drying. Is it the same filter, so what is the difference between a pre filter and a post filter? The main difference lies in the accuracy of filtering. The following is a detailed explanation:
Air compressor
1. Pre filter: removes some liquid water, lubricating oil, and diameters greater than 1 μ Particles of m. Both adsorption and refrigeration dryers require a pre filter. Otherwise, once particles such as rust on the pipeline are used in the evaporator, it will greatly reduce the efficiency of the refrigeration dryer and even damage the evaporator.
2. Post filter: Remove the oil mist concentration in compressed air to a higher standard, while removing more than 0.01 μ Particles of m and oil content greater than 0.001 ppm. Under normal circumstances, the rear filter hardly emits liquid water. If so, there is a malfunction in the air water separator or drain valve inside the dryer.
3. The pre filter performs preliminary filtration and purification of compressed air, which can remove a large amount of water, oil, and larger particles, while also playing a protective role. Therefore, the pre filter of the air compressor is to pre-treat the compressed air, perform preliminary filtration, and filter out relatively large particles.
4. The rear filter is more accurate. When compressed air enters the post-processing stage, there is basically no liquid discharged. If compressed air containing a large amount of impurities is not protected by the pre filter, it is directly supplied by the post filter. During transportation, the gas water separator and drain valve may become blocked or even damaged.
