What Should I Pay Attention To When Operating An Air Compressor?

1. The air compressor should be parked away from steam, gas, and dust. The intake pipe should be equipped with a filtering device. After the air compressor is in place, it should be symmetrically wedged with cushion blocks.
2. Regularly keep the exterior of the storage tank clean. Welding or hot working near the air storage tank is prohibited. The air storage tank should undergo a hydraulic test once a year, and the test pressure should be 1.5 times the working pressure. The pressure gauge and safety valve should be inspected once a year.
3. Operators should receive specialized training and must have a comprehensive understanding of the structure, performance, and function of air compressors and auxiliary equipment, and be familiar with operating and maintenance procedures.
4. Operators should wear work clothes, and female comrades should tuck their braids into their work hats. It is strictly prohibited to operate under the influence of alcohol, engage in activities unrelated to operation, leave the work position without authorization, and decide to replace the work with non local operators without authorization.
5. Before starting the air compressor, check and prepare according to regulations, and pay attention to opening all valves in the air storage tank. After starting the diesel engine, it is necessary to perform heating operation at low, medium, and rated speeds. Pay attention to whether the readings of each instrument are normal before operating under load. The air compressor should gradually increase its load to start, and only after all parts are normal can it operate at full load.
6. During the operation of the air compressor, always pay attention to the readings of the instrument (especially the readings of the air pressure gauge), listen to the sound of each part, and if any abnormalities are found, immediately stop the machine for inspection. The maximum air pressure inside the gas storage tank shall not exceed the pressure specified on the nameplate. Every 2-4 hours of operation, the condensate water discharge valves of the intercooler and air storage tank should be opened 1-2 times. Do a good job in cleaning the machine. After the air compressor has been running for a long time, it is prohibited to rinse it with cold water.
7. When the air compressor is stopped, the exhaust valve of the air storage tank should be gradually opened, the pressure should be slowly reduced, and the diesel engine speed should be correspondingly reduced, so that the air compressor can operate at no load and low speed for 5-10 seconds. After the air compressor stops running, the diesel engine continues to run at low speed for 5 seconds before stopping. If the temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius in winter, the cooling water without antifreeze should be drained after shutdown.
8. When cleaning the heat sink, it is not allowed to use combustion methods to remove oil stains from the pipeline. Cleaning, tightening, and other maintenance work must be carried out after shutdown. When using compressed air to blow clean parts, it is strictly prohibited to aim the air outlet at the human body or other equipment to prevent injury or damage.
9. Regularly (weekly) conduct a manual exhaust test on the safety valve of the air storage tank to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the safety valve.
10. Do a good job in cleaning the machine. After the air compressor has been running for a long time, it is prohibited to rinse it with cold water.
